Koodo And Public Finally Match Other Providers’ $39/30gb Plans

Telus’ sub-brands Koodo and Public Mobile have now added 30GB 4G plans, matching the offerings of Rogers’ Fido and Bell’s Virgin Plus.

Public directly matched the deal (and in fact even beat it) with a $39/month 30GB 4G plan. However, customers who sign up for a 90-day subscription pay $34 a month, making Public’s plan slightly cheaper than its competitors.

Koodo, on the other hand, converted its existing $40/10GB plan to a $40/30GB plan. The carrier also dropped its $45/20GB plan, which makes sense since the $40/30GB deal is much better. Still, that makes Koodo’s plan at least $1 more expensive per month than the others.

Both Public and Koodo cap their 4G plan speeds at 100Mbps. Koodo also offers a free benefit with their plans, although the $40/30GB plan only offers the option of premium voicemail or unlimited international SMS sent from Canada.

Koodo also offers a ‘Stream+’ package that includes Netflix Premium, Apple TV+ and Discovery+. If you get the $40/30GB plan, you can get the package for $10/mo for three months ($28/mo after that). It’s worth noting that Koodo is still using the older version of Stream+, not the new package recently released by Telus.
